To transport and accompany children to family visits, therapy or other appointments as requested by Case Manager in consultation with Coordinator of Volunteer Connections - Verify directions and pick-up time with caregiver - Ensure safety measures are in place:
car seats with tether hook, seatbelts, place child in rear seat etc- Drive child to appointment, and home - Notify staff of significant events or concerns - Record mileage and parking costs and submit monthly expense forms - Observe volunteer policies and procedures as stated in manual Skills Required:
- Competent, safe adult driver - Current drivers' license and vehicle insurance - Reliable vehicle and willingness to drive in rural areas - Ability to relate to children in a warm and caring manner - Ability to manage child behaviour if necessary - Well-organized, dependable volunteer - Good communication skills and mature problem-solving ability - Cell phone recommended but not required - Six-month minimum commitment Skills Gained/Related Careers:
- Orientation to position, client family need and WCFS - In-service training available Age:
18-30, 31-54, 55
Time Commitment:
