For Sale: 1974 Plymouth Duster in Burlington, Kansas for sale in Burlington, KS

1 of 35
Vehicle Description 74 Plymouth Gold Duster, 56000 miles, 440, automatic trans, 8-3/4 rear end with 323 sure grip.
Power steering, big bolt pattern manual disc brakes, correct big block A body headers with full dual exhaust.
Very small amount of rust in the trunk and one minor spot on passengers quarter down low.
Lots of scuffs and scraped paint.
Body and paint are from day-one and has not been repaired or painted.
This car screams every old car buzz word you can think of--Patina, barn find, rat rod, rescued and all the rest.
Has been sitting under cover somewhere (oh, lets call it a barn) for decades and was recently put back in service.
Took a new gas tank with 3/8 sending unit, new calipers/pads/hoses, tires, and Edelbrock carb.
Was built to be a street/strip car many many years ago.
Everything to make the A/C work is there except the compressor.
Just in case you want to take your lawnmower for the ride of its life, there is a trailer hitch too.
Starts, runs and drives like a normal car.
Engine is a 75 440 with a bigger cam, but not so big that it needs a high stall converter.
Radiator is out of the C body the engine came from, works perfect and uses the factory overflow bottle.
Transmission seems to be stock, shifts fine, and has its own independent cooler.
Motor mounts are spool type manufactured units, not some cobbled up mess.
All the lights and gauges work, no broken glass, does not leak any fluids and smoke or use oil.
Front tires are 205/75-14's on factory wheels, rears are 275/60-15's on 7 factory Cordoba wheels.
323 sure grip is in good condition and uses a 489 case.
Stock 6 cylinder torsion bars and rear springs with an additional leaf.
Front suspension and steering has 56K miles on it so there is a lot of life left there.
Looks like hell but is mechanically sound.
Runs cool, has great oil pressure and charges--what more could you ask for.
Grille, lenses and window trim in nice used condition.
Full factory undercoat has kept the floors and frames rust free.
I suppose a guy could blow it apart, do the body work and interior and make a very nice car out of it, but I don't see the merit in spending money on it like its a kid in college.
As it is, you don't have to worry about using a fender cover when you work on it, and don't have to worry about where you park it.
You don't even need a garage for it.
There are a lot of positive aspects to having a car that oozes patina like this one does.
Clean Kansas Antique title.
Twist the key and feed it gas.
This is the most inexpensive big block turn-key car you will find.
Not a rusted blowed up car that needs money spent on it to make it move.
Father/son/daughter bracket car.
Running driving resto project.
First car for the young Mopar enthusiast in the house.
Loan it to your mother-in-law.
The possibilities are endless.
