Vehicle Description 1978 Dodge D150 standard cab short step side.
71 440, 833 4 speed, 9.
25 rear end with 410 sure grip.
Power steering, disc brakes.
Very old maroon single stage re-paint with normal wear.
Runs at highway speeds comfortably.
Older 255/70 front and 31x10.
50-15's on the rear in good shape.
Full 2.
5 dual exhaust all the way to the bumper.
Runs and drives normal till you start jabbing the gas, then it goes nuts.
Drive train has no issues or problems, brakes and charging system work great.
Comes with a new pair of the correct front springs to get it back to the original ride height in front.
Engine is a 71 440 probably from a C body of some sort.
Cam sounds like a 284/484 Purple stripe, Edelbrock 440 Performer dual plane intake with a 1407 Edelbrock electric choke carb, cast iron truck exhaust manifolds.
Does not leak, smoke, run hot or consume oil.
I dont have any written or confirmed specifics on the engine, but it has been in the truck for 15
years and has not had many miles put on it in that time.
Transmission shifts fine with no problems and the clutch doesnt have many miles on it.
Sure grip works correctly and is not noisy.
Other than a minor rear main seal drip, it does not have any leaks.
Factory type electronic ignition.
Yes, there is a block heater on it.
Brake booster had a leak and is unhooked, and comes with a good used replacement.
Brakes work great and act better than manual brakes do.
Needs a wiper motor.
Interior has newer carpet in great condition and the seat has been re-covered and is very nice.
All the gauges are accurate and work correctly.
The radio is just for show and is not hooked up.
Lower carpet on the drivers door panel could use help.
Needs a glove box door to be perfect.
Has had minor rust repair in the floors and rockers decades ago when it was painted.
Starting to show a small spot of rust up high on the passengers fender.
Frame is very solid.
This is a turn-key driver that I use locally on a regular basis.
Can be used as-is but with a little TLC would be way above average for its age.
Very conventional and predictable when driven normally.
I have no idea about quarter mile time or top speed but it will surprise you if you start mashing the gas.
